I'm a self-taught seamstress with 28 years of experience, creating stylish, functional accessories from my studio in Greer, SC. The cork I use is harvested in Spain from the Quercus Suber tree, which regenerates every 9-12 years, ensuring a sustainable supply for up to 200 years.

 

I’m dedicated to balancing the need to earn with a slower, more fulfilling life.  I’m unsure how long I can live off my art but I’m committed to enjoying the ride. SewGnar has grown from a slow fashion brand to an eco-friendly accessories line, and with the addition of sewing patterns, I’ve returned to teaching. I now travel to quilt shops and expos, and host a YouTube channel to share my love of sewing. 

 

My focus is on sustainable textiles, and I’m passionate about introducing sustainability to those who may not have considered it before. Creativity shapes our world, and I aim to minimize its negative impact.
